OPPORTUNITY FOR MICRO-ENTERPRISES

Ceramic Industries, through its Enterprise Development Programme, invites applications for Business Development Support.

This initiative is in line with the objectives of Enterprise Development in terms of the Codes of Good Practice (‘BEE Codes’) with the objective of:

  1. Supporting the development of community enterprises
  2. Increase local procurement
  3. Develop entities that are operationally and financially independent

THIS OPPORTUNITY IS OPEN TO BUSINESSES WITHIN THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT SECTOR, WITH A PARTICULAR FOCUS ON:

Builders and renovators

  • Tilers
  • Plumbers
  • Carpenters
  • Manufacturing and fabrication services
  • Plant hire
  • Electrical services

The built environment includes the physical makeup of where we live, learn, work, and play – our homes, schools, businesses, streets, sidewalks, and open spaces. We have chosen to exclude the transportation sector.

Please note that schools, universities, NPOs, NGOs, and NPCs are NOT eligible to apply.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
We are looking for entrepreneurs who are fully invested in their business, who are driven to succeed, and who are in business for the long haul.

  • The company must be 100% Black-owned, with a level 1 BBBEE certification status.
  • Business registration documents – must be certified, not older than 3 months:
  • Directors’ IDs, CIPC 14.3 COR, valid tax certificate, proof of company bank account, and proof of residence.
  • Directors’ need to be in possession of relevant qualifications within their respective industry.
  • Latest Annual Financial Statements, 12 months Management Accounts or bank statements for the past 12 months.
  • Only companies that are actively trading can apply, and we will only consider Emerging Enterprises with a turnover of between R0 – R10M.
  • Please include your company profile with all your contact details.
  • Advantageous: Letters of recommendation or a Portfolio of evidence (POE).
  • Preference will be given to businesses within 50km radius of our Vereeniging factories.

Selection criteria:

Early-stage entrepreneurs: The program is open to individuals who have recently started their entrepreneurial journey.

Commitment to quality: The program seeks entrepreneurs who are committed to delivering high-quality goods/services. Applicants should exhibit attention to detail, precision, and a commitment to achieving superior results.

Business acumen: While not mandatory, applicants who possess basic business acumen, including knowledge of marketing, customer relations, and financial management, will be given preference. They should understand the importance of building a strong brand and customer base.

Market potential: Applicants should have identified a target market for their business and demonstrate a clear understanding of the demand and market potential in their geographic area.
